People watch the soldiers carrying the coffin
They watch and stare at the big brown box
Carrying a son, a husband, a father, and a soldier
The mother and father watch thinking
"Why are we burying our son when it should be the other way around?",
The wife watches as she cries thinking to herself
"I don't want the words till death do we part to come true.",
His daughter stands there holding her mothers hand crying asking her mom
"Where's daddy mommy why isn't he waking up and why are those men carrying his box?",
His fellow soldiers look at the box watching it move down the row of people
They all think back to when he was shot and all say to themselves
"Why couldn't I have saved him he didn't deserve this, he didn't deserve to be carried off the battle field raw and breathless?",
The soldiers shoot off their guns in memory of
A son, a husband, a father, and a soldier...
